Google Maps ist heutzutage weit verbreitet und auf nahezu allen Smartphones installiert. Wir nutzen die Navigationsapp fast tagt\u00e4glich. Problematisch wird es, wenn es keine klassische Adresse gibt: Etwa der vereinbarte Treffpunkt im Park mit Freunden. Abhilfe schaffen die \u201ePlus-Codes\u201c \u2013 ein bisher unbekanntes Feature, welches viele noch nicht kennen. Mehr dazu hier im Beitrag.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vereinfachte Navigation dank Plus-Codes<\/h2>\n

Die Desktop- sowie Mobilansicht mit den einzelnen Funktionen ist weithin bekannt \u2013 ebenso integriert und kaum beachtet sind die sog. \u201ePlus-Codes\u201c. Diese wurden als Open Location Codes schon 2014 in einem Schweizer Google B\u00fcro erfunden. Das Ziel hinter den Plus-Codes ist recht simpel: Die Navigation auf der ganzen Welt zu vereinfachen, insbesondere dort, wo keine eineindeutigen Adressen verf\u00fcgbar sind.<\/p>\n

Der Aufbau vom Plus-Code<\/h2>\n

Der Plus-Code besteht aus sechs oder sieben Ziffern bzw. Buchstaben und einem erg\u00e4nzenden Ortsnamen. Eine alternative Schreibweise enth\u00e4lt eine Kombination aus zehn Buchstaben und Ziffern ohne den zus\u00e4tzlichen Ortsnamen. Die ersten vier Zeichen des Plus-Codes weisen einen Ort zun\u00e4chst einem weitl\u00e4ufigen Rasten von 100×100 Kilometern zu, der Rest des Codes spezifiziert den Standort auf eine quadratische Fl\u00e4che von etwa 14×14 Metern. Das Ergebnis ist ein individueller Code f\u00fcr nahezu jeden Ort.
\nIn allen L\u00e4ndern, wo Plus-Codes verf\u00fcgbar sind, werden diese in der Detailansicht bei Google Maps angezeigt. Innerhalb der Google Maps Apps bei Android und Apple iOS wird der jeweilige Plus Code kopiert, sobald man diesen antippt. Entsprechend umgekehrt kann der Plus Code anschlie\u00dfend einfach in das Suchfeld bei Maps hineinkopiert werden. Fertig ist die Navigation zu einem etwas entlegeneren Ort.<\/p>\n

So nutzen Sie den Plus Code in der Praxis<\/h2>\n

Google bietet im Internet eine zus\u00e4tzliche Version ihres beliebten Kartendienstes Google Maps<\/a>, der prominent den Code des ausgew\u00e4hlten Ortes ausgibt. Das Teilen eines Codes funktioniert dabei so: Sie tippen l\u00e4nger auf den blauen Punkt, der Ihren Standort innerhalb von Google Maps markiert. Es \u00f6ffnet sich ein Pop-up Men\u00fc, wo Sie Ihren aktuellen Plus-Code erhalten. Diesen k\u00f6nnen Sie, wie eben schon beschrieben, antippen, womit er in die Zwischenablage kopiert wird. Abschlie\u00dfend k\u00f6nnen Sie den Code mit einem Messenger wie WhatsApp oder Telegram teilen.<\/p>\n

Dort ist der Plus Code sinnvoll<\/h2>\n

Plus Codes bei Google Maps sind vor allem dann sinnvoll, wo es keine oder nur unzureichend genaue Adressen gibt. Das kann der weitl\u00e4ufige Park sein, gro\u00dfe Pl\u00e4tze oder abgelegene Landstriche. Der Plus Code ersetzt dabei sperrige Koordinaten, die kaum im Alltag gebr\u00e4uchlich sind.
